Ask me no questions, I'll tell you no lies...
Taken from the Editor's Letter in this month's issue of Elle.
"I remember being on a bus in St.Petersburg, and the driver, who spoke English and was telling me about the locals, answered one of my questions thusly: 'Am I happy? Happy? Only Americans ask such questions. Russians don't expect to be happy.' "
I wonder if the reason so many of us are (needlessly) miserable is because we keep asking ourselves this question. It takes either a really wise man or a fool to say happiness is over-rated. I have yet to decide which but I have my suspicions.
